Good Friday Youth Club The Good Friday Club meets weekly on a Friday night. The club is for 7-11 year olds and was started in 1999 with an original membership of four. This quickly increased and now we have had over a 100 children on the register at times, with a current average of around 40 children attending weekly. The club has an ‘open doors policy’ and is open to any children within the age range, attracting children from the village, the wider parish and from outlying areas. The church is meeting the needs of parents looking for a safe and secure environment for their children. Many parents encourage their children to come as they appreciate the safety of the environment. The program for the Good Friday Club includes crafts, activities, and games, which can focus on environmental issues, citizenship and the promotion of well being and wholeness. Additionally the group goes on occasional outings. The professionalism of the youth leaders and the opportunities for the children to enjoy the many and varied recreational and educational activities are often commented upon by parents, carers and children alike. |
