Choir

The choir currently take responsibility for certain special services, including the service of Nine Lessons and Carols before Christmas and a Good Friday service; they also play an active part in the annual Tower Service.

Choir practices are currently taking place on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. in church, in preparation for the 2009 Christmas services.  All are very welcome to attend these practices and to join with the choir at services in church and in local nursing homes where scheduled.  (See program of Christmas services.)  A wide range of musical tastes are catered for, including modern hymns and songs accompanied by electronic keyboard and other instruments, when available, through to traditional anthems and hymns accompanied by the organ.

The church is also developing a music group to lead worship at certain of the 10.30 a.m. services - anyone interested in joining the group is also very welcome to contact us.

The main hymn book in use is Mission Praise (Complete), supplemented by other song books when required to cover the most recent material.
